Last year, I graduated with a Journalism degree and I am determined to make use of it. I started a series called “In the Sewers” back in September on my YouTube channel, but I wanted to do another thing for when I’m out and about at festivals. Hence why “Rat on the Road” was born.
Travelling to festivals (when time off permits) and conversing with bands about their presence, upcoming projects, and simply having a chat. Essentially, it’s what I do in the sewers, only above ground. My first choice for a festival to attend was the Call of the Wild Festival at Lincolnshire Showground, and the first band to accept was the Manchester-based group, We Three Kings.
And You Are?

We Three Kings are not your average band; they defy convention with their unique two-piece setup. Rich, the hard-rocking frontman, exudes charisma as he flings his sunglasses and guitar around the stage, while Pete thunders on the drums making everyone tap their feet. Adding to the intrigue, is the band’s mysterious third member, Bonesy, who holds down the bass with unparalleled skill. This unconventional trio (if you can include Bonesy) brings a fuzzy, bluesy, and rock ‘n’ roll sound that’s bound to leave audiences electrified.
The guys’ conversation in the interview bring up Bonesy and go on to talk about the creation of their unique sound, their musical influences, and their upcoming appearances at Love Rocks and Firevolt Festival in the next few weeks. You can explore the full interview by following the link below.
We Three Kings offers a diverse music catalog available for streaming on Spotify and invites fans to stay updated by following them on social media!
This rock show was an absolute blast! The performance had a groovy and jazzy vibe, prompting everyone to bust out their best dad rock side-to-side two-step dance moves. Rich’s energetic stage presence kept the audience on their toes, grooving along to the band’s unique sound. The catchy, audience-enticing choruses and occasional hard-rocking moments made it an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.
After their performance, I managed to sweep over to the Merch stand to introduce myself, but had to fight my way to the front just to get a quick handshake. The crowd wanted photos, t-shirts, signed merch, and all sorts, so I just left them to it. I thoroughly enjoyed our interview and cannot wait to catch up with them again in the future.
I hope this new series is just the beginning of a fruitful beginning into venturing out to live music events. I am not done with “In the Sewers” but summer time is upon us and I have a few more interviews coming your way!
New episodes will be coming out daily so stay tuned and don’t forget to subscribe!
