Peace Out: Aerosmith Announce Farewell Tour

Boston rockers Aerosmith have announced an extensive farewell tour across North America of 40 dates for the rest of the year and continuing into 2024.

The band have been teasing this farewell tour with posters of “Peace Out” popping up all over America during this past week. The announcement has come after the band cancelled their remaining dates of their multi year residency gigs “Deuces are Wild” in Las Vegas. This came around because of Steven Tyler’s health, a statement released at the time said he was feeling “unwell”.

In a joint statement, Aerosmith said:

“It’s not goodbye, it’s PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”

Aerosmith’s drummer Joey Kramer, sadly will not be a part of this tour. Joey hasn’t been performing lately due to his health and family. Regarding Joey, Aerosmith said:

While Joey remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakeable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”

Aerosmith are being supported by The Black Crowes and tickets go on General Sale on Friday 5th May. The announcement was made via their YouTube channel and included Eminem, Slash and many more sharing their absolute disbelief. Watch the announcement below:

I have to say on a personal note, I am rather upset that it has come to an end. Aerosmith were due to gig in the UK back in 2020 and due to obvious reasons was rescheduled to 2022, about 6 weeks before their performances, the band cancelled. The band cited illnesses and risks to travel for themselves and the crew due to the everlasting effects of the pandemic. Not long after they announced their residency in Las Vegas which peed off a lot of fans.

Although upset (and scrambling to find money to go to America), it is an inevitable fact that our rock gods are aging and they will have to retire at some point. And if we think they’re joking, we can “Dream On”!
